STL (7
GHz) / WLAN (5.8 GHz) Diplexer
Introducing
the
model 16940 STL/WLAN diplexer designed to optimize the
broadcaster’s auxiliary service (STL) operations.
|

|
|
| Application
Notes:
Due to the inherently
obscure locations of many (7 GHz) STL feeds (e.g. –
mountaintop), broadcasters typically operate their STL
equipment via remote control from the studio. However,
newer generation remote-controlled STL equipment requires
high-speed network connectivity (e.g. – Ethernet)
for efficient operation. While a high-speed wired network
connection (LAN) is impractical to reach those far-off
STL links, a wireless network connection (WLAN) is ideal
for such an application.
More specifically, a 5.8
GHz WLAN can also operate through the same size (WR137)
waveguide components and antenna dish typically used
on a 7 GHz STL feed - due to the relatively-close proximity
of frequencies. This “commonality” means
that dual band operations (WLAN & STL) can share
one antenna to and from the studio - provided there
is adequate isolation between the 5.8 GHz equipment
and the 7 GHz equipment. Consequently, a diplexer provides
this dual band (mutual) isolation.
Product:
MFC’s model 16940
diplexer provides a low band of (5.725-5.850) GHz for
the WLAN path and a high band of (6.95-7.15) GHz for
the STL path with superior isolation (> 50 dB) between
the two bands.
The common port has a
CPR137F flange, the low band (WLAN) port has an N-female
connector, while the high band (STL) port has a CMR137
flange. Alternate configurations are available upon
request.
Benefits:
* Optimize Performance - No
need to “patch” the WLAN through the STL
antenna via “lossy”
circulator/filter
arrays.
*
Save Revenue - Eliminates the need for a separate WLAN
antenna system.

| These
bands are mutually isolated by a minimum of 55 dB with a maximum
1 dB of insertion loss in each band. The use of modern design
& production methods yields a compact-sized diplexer with
a 4" x 3" x 1.25" footprint.

New (2
GHz) BAS Bandpass Filter

MFC
introduces a new single channel bandpass filter designed
for use by the Broadcast Auxiliary Services operating
in the restructured 2 GHz band.
The (7) seven
channels formerly occupying 17 MHz slots within the
1990 - 2110 MHz band have been reduced to 12 MHz slots
within the smaller 2025.5 - 2109.5 MHz band. Consequently,
this has caused the need for broadcasters to changeover
to filters designed to accommodate these smaller operating
bandwidths. |
MFC's new single-channel bandpass filter, model 15850-ch.
offers low loss on the desired channel and it's ultra-sharp
selectivity that not only eliminates potential interference
from out-of-band sources such as PCS & WiFi, but
also provides superior isolation from all other BAS
channels, which is key in any area where other broadcasters
operate.
This filter utilizes state-of-the-art technology at
a very attractive price. Coupled with MFC's reputation
for fast turn-around time and your transition in the
2 GHz band will be economical and smooth.

Digital Single Channel
Elimination Filter for CATV
|
|
|
| Regarded
as a leading manufacturer of channel elimination filters for over
three decades, MFC continues to evolve its product line to meet
the CATV industry's ever-changing technological demands. |

|
|
| Originally,
channel elimination filters were designed to remove an analog
program from a CATV channel for the purpose of reinserting an
alternate source of analog programming with minimal effect on
adjacent channels ……. and our C.E.F.'s were (and
still are) renowned for doing just that.
Today, CATV systems provide both analog and digital programming
and since a digital program requires more effective bandwidth
utilization than an analog program the result is less spacing
between adjacent channels.
Consequently, analog elimination filters are just not selective
enough to suppress those wider digital bandwidths without severely
degrading the adjacent channels. So in order to meet today's
digital applications, MFC is proud to introduce it's new digital,
single channel elimination filter…….the model 15690-(ch.).
This filter will provide full digital channel elimination for
the reinsertion of new digital (or analog) programming with
minimal effect on adjacent channels (digital or analog). The
model 15690-(ch.) is available for any single CATV channel from
chs. ( 2 - 158 ) and is ready to mount on a wall, table or in
a rack console.

ISM
Band (902-928 MHz)
Interference Notch Filter |
 |
|
|
MFC
introduces the model 15345 notch filter, for use within the
unlicensed ISM band of (902-928) MHz. High-power paging systems
operating around 930 MHz can easily cause interference to ISM
users (e.g.- Broadband Wireless Access) due to the close proximity
of the frequency bands. However,
the model 15345 is designed to remove that interference by providing
a deep notch (35 dB min.) at the 930 MHz signal with minimal
impact (1 dB typ.) across the ISM band. * This filter is compact,
sturdy and operates over a wide temperature range
(-20°C to +50°C), making it ideal for mobile subscribers.
* Also available in a weatherized version, Model 15345W. Please
